Tackle the hard topics.

As a youth ministry leader, you know the struggles teens face these days. Depression, comparison, identity, anxiety, suicide . . . it’s a lot. And it isn’t always easy to know what to say or what to do when these topics come up.

That’s why we created The Relationship Project. This three-part series is designed to help youth leaders like you facilitate meaningful group discussions with teens on today’s most needed conversations—identity, intimacy, and mental health.

Combat Isolation.

Teens spend much of their time behind a screen feeling alone and isolated. They’re connected in a digital sense, but they lack real human connection. And that’s what they need more than anything.

The Relationship Project is a powerful tool because it combats isolation and disconnection. It gives teens a space to open up, share with one another, and receive Christ-centered wisdom that’s relevant to the issues they’re dealing with today.

Save time for what matters most.

You’ve got a million things on your plate—visiting with students, connecting with parents, attending staff meetings, coordinating volunteers, planning out the next several weeks. Not to mention carving out time to prepare for youth group each week. But what if you could save time on prep?

With The Relationship Project, everything is ready for you to lead with minimal prep work. The leader guides give you exactly what you need to facilitate the study and lead the discussion with confidence and ease. And getting that time back each week allows you to focus on what matters most: connecting with your students.

Hear what people are saying:

It is fantastic to see the Church take on the tough issues in our world today. We know the answer is Christ, but this program gets through in a way that brings our kids closer to Christ and the Church and arms them with reasons they can understand.
— Cindy Karos, youth worker in Minnesota

The Relationship Project is like a recipe that you just follow; Faithtree lays it all out for you. It was so engaging and exciting for our kids that they were coming back in droves. The kids loved it. It’s hard to replicate that kind of material on your own.
— Fr. Gary Kyriacou, Parish Priest in California

The Relationship Project was one of the best things that’s ever happened to me. It helped me grow within myself and Christ. This program helped me build confidence with how I approach conflicts in my life and intimacy with friends and family. This program was an eye-opener, and I looked forward to it every week.
— Nataly, student in Michigan

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The Relationship Project is produced by Faithtree, an organization rooted in Orthodox Christianity. While The Relationship Project curriculum makes some references to Orthodoxy, it is applicable and relevant to Christians of all denominations.

  • Each of the three parts of The Relationship Project is sold separately and includes digital access to the Leader Guide, Teaching Videos, and a library of Tutorial Videos to get you started. Digital and physical copies of the Participant Workbooks are sold separately, so you can choose the quantity you’ll need for your group.

  • Each of the three parts includes four sessions. So if you focused on one session per week, the series would take you twelve weeks to complete. However, you can lead the series at your own pace. Some groups complete the program in as little as a week or two (for example, during a summer camp) or stretch it out over six months (for example, a Sunday school program that runs during an academic year). It’s up to you!

  • The complete series (all three parts), which includes a physical version of the Leader Guide, as well as access to the session videos, the cost is $399.

The Participant Guide, which includes a physical attendee workbook for the complete series (all three parts) is $45 per participant.

  • The series was designed for high schoolers, but we’ve successfully run it with junior highschoolers, college students, and young adults. Since it covers some heavy topics, we don’t recommend the program for kids younger than 13 years old.

  • There is not a free trial, but you can watch samples of videos on this page.

  • Once you purchase The Relationship Project, you and your team have unlimited access to all the digital content, Session Teaching Videos, Tutorial Videos, and the Leader Guides. The only thing that will be a recurring cost for your church (or the teens if you choose) are the additional Participant Workbooks as you run it with new individuals. Otherwise, what you purchase is with you for life!

  • Since the program is based on group discussion, smaller groups of 10-20 are ideal. Depending on how large your youth group is, you could watch the videos together as a larger group and then break into smaller groups for discussion time. However, we recommend a leader being present in each group to facilitate discussion.

  • Yes! Workbooks allow the participant to journal, reflect, and take notes in a private, intentional way during each session.

  • Yes! You can buy The Relationship Project curriculum now, and then each time you lead the series, you can purchase additional workbooks based on the number of participants.

  • The Relationship Project was designed so that almost any trusted adult can step in and run the program with great success. Since the videos teach most of the theology and the script does all the heavy lifting in leading amazing conversations, your leader doesn’t need to be a youth expert or theologian to host transformative discussions with your youth. As long as your pastor has given their blessing, designated leaders can step in, follow the recipe, lead amazing sessions, and know that the teachings are in the fullness of the Faith.
