Faithtree Resources Announces Partnership with U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the PREVENTS Task Force of Executive Order 13861

Valencia, CA (October 19, 2020)

Faithtree Resources has announced its partnership with the PREVENTS Task Force appointed to enact Executive Order 13861, or the President’s Roadmap to Empower Veterans and End a National Tragedy of Suicide. President Trump’s landmark plan engages Americans in a nationwide effort to prevent suicide, connect at-risk individuals to local resources, and facilitate coordinated research on suicide prevention.

“Dr. Barbara Van Dahlen and her team at PREVENTS recognize that faith communities can be one of the strongest protective factors in suicide prevention”, said Faithtree Executive Director, Michelle Moujaes.  “This is exciting recognition for our team and our programs at Faithtree.”

Faithtree Resources has been invited to partner with the Federal effort to share best practices for promoting mental health in faith-based communities, to ensure awareness of and access to federal, state, and local resources, and to build suicide resilience training and competencies amongst leaders in Christian communities using The Relationship Project, Faithtree’s latest small group curriculum for teens. PREVENTS has created a comprehensive roadmap to change the story on poor mental health, self-harm, and suicide.  The work of the PREVENTS Task Force is a national priority.

“The Relationship Project is a dynamic program and it represents an immediate and actionable way to build stronger communities, improve mental health and reduce suicide,” said Faithtree Executive Director, Michelle Moujaes.  “Our programs are effective.  This collaboration gives us the opportunity to make an even broader impact and that’s exciting.”
